A Purpose Driven Church
Insoul is a 7 year old church with a purpose to reach
people who usually do not attend church. From it's very
inception, Insoul has broken the mold of traditional church and pioneering
a new way to reach its community. Insoul is a trendsetter church that
speaks the truth to a modern culture in ways that are simply
understood.
Insoul is a Purpose Driven Church because we exist to
fulfill the The Great Commission, (Matt. 28:19-20) and The Great Commandment,
(Matt. 22:37-38). From these two passages of scripture comes the
five purposes for why our church exist: Worship, Fellowship, Maturity, Ministry,
and Missions. Everything we do is based on these purposes.
Insoul began in Vedia Johnson's Hair Salon with about 50
people in November 2002. The church went public in April
2003 at Westover
Senior High School in Fayetteville, N.C. The first public service had an
attendance of 300 people and attendance never went below 200 afterwards.
In August 2003, Insoul renovated the Cinema 5 Theater and began conducting
Sunday Celebrations. The building had been closed for 8 years prior and
the ministry grew rapidly and soon expanded to 2 services. After 3
years, Insoul was conducting 3 services every Sunday, with an attendance of 600 people.
After 5 years, Insoul purchased property to begin construction of Phase 1 of their new church facility. Phase 1 consists
of a 700 seat sanctuary,cafe,
bookstore, and children's center. Insoul
is currently meeting at Westover High School, interestingly, the same
place where the first public service was launched. The new facility is
scheduled to be complete by June 2010. By September 2010, Insoul will
have broken through the 800 Barrier in Sunday Morning attendance.
The Insoul strategy is to attract a crowd,
turn the crowd into a congregation, move the congregation to spiritual
maturity, help them to identify their spiritual gifts, release them into
ministry and teach them to invite their friends to church and tell
others about what the Lord has done for them.
