Insoul Fellowship's Leader
Joe Johnson was born in Fort Campbell, KY, to the late Joe and Saddie
Johnson. He is the fourth of seven children. The family is originally
from the state of Alabama. They traveled at times, due to their
father's military career. Most of his father's career in the military
was at Fort Bragg, NC, where he eventually retired. Joe met Vedia
Rountree after graduating from Westover High School, in Fayetteville,
NC. He graduated from college in December of 1982, and married Vedia in
July of 1983. They have three beautiful children, Corey, LaBreta and
Jennifer.
Joe was called into the ministry in 1980. The early years of his ministry were at Williams Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC; where he served as an associate minister and directed the choirs. He has directed many choirs throughout the region, sung with many famous gospel singers, conducted music workshops, and produced a gospel album. His vocal talent is soulful and anointed. Once you hear him you will agree. You will be hearing a great deal more about Joe Johnson in the gospel music industry.
Pastor Joe is also a gifted speaker. He is known for his ability to bring the scriptures to life by teaching and preaching in a simple, culturally relevant manner. Many lives have been changed through his powerful teaching. After hearing him, many testify of the relevance of the message, how they are able to make the scriptures practical and real in their everyday life. From Feb. 1992 to Nov. 2002, Pastor Joe served as pastor at Harrington Chapel Church in Southern Pines, NC. The ministry flourished and Harrington became a cutting edge church.
Now, Pastor Joe has been called back to the Cumberland County area. Pastor Joe and a core group of people have planted a new church. Once again, this multi-gifted leader shares a fresh vision that will impact the entire Sandhills Region. Insoul Fellowship Church will be a strategic high impact, cutting edge ministry.
