MATURITY
The Bible is clear that God wants every believer to grow up spiritually, Paul says in Ephesians 4:15 "Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. The goal of spiritual maturity is to become like Christ. As a matter of fact, all preaching at Insoul to help people to apply God's word to their lives. We have learned the following about spiritual maturity: spiritual growth is intentional, practical, a process that takes time, measured more by behavior than by beliefs, needs relationships to grow and takes a variety of spiritual experiences with God.
CLASS 201
To get members started in the right direction we help them establish habits that encourage spiritual growth. We encourage members to attend CLASS 201. Class 201 focuses on how to establish habits of a disciple which are, time with God's Word, the habit of prayer, the habit of tithing and the habit of fellowship. At the end of Class 201, everyone signs a maturity covenant.
The members of Insoul are enrolled in, The Life Development Institute, we believe there are five measurements of maturity: Knowledge, Perspective, Conviction, Skills and Character. These five levels of learning are the building blocks of spiritual growth. We strive to develop disciples that are strong in all five areas.
Knowledge
Training For Service is the program we use to began teaching our members the Word. Because Insoul attracts people who usually do not attend church, we do not assume new members know anything about the Bible. After joining, they began the 8 week Training For Service. Each session includes lectures, break out sessions to discuss the history of the books in the Bible.
Perspectives
The Insoul program to teach God’s view concerning issues of life is called “Life Perspectives”. This is a systematic theology course written by Kay Warren and Tom Holladay of Saddleback Church. Life Perspectives covers twelve essential doctrines. The doctrines are taught during the Wednesday Believers Celebration.
Conviction
At Insoul, we teach Biblical convictions (values) in every class, seminar and message. Conviction is caught as much as taught. Conviction spreads through relationships. Host groups are the key to people developing conviction. Through spending tie with other believers values or convictions become contagious.
Skills
You learn skill by practice and experience. Skills are how to steps of spiritual growth. The Insoul program used for developing skills is called Life Skills Seminars. The skills are taught once per month, during the Advanced Leadership Training.
Character
Developing the character of Christ is the greatest task of one’s life. The objective of our teaching is to change lives, character is built in the circumstances of life. When you put knowledge of the Word, perspective, conviction and skills together, the end product is character.
